Vileti ‘Akolo Wells (she/they) LMSW is a Tongan-American psychotherapist, culture keeper, circle practitioner & facilitator. She’s lived and worked on Lenape land for the past 13 years. She was born and raised in the Bay Area and received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from UCLA, and her Masters degree in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Vileti is skilled at integrating psychotherapy with social and transformative justice praxis. She dedicates her personal and professional work to upending oppressive systems through facilitating challenging conversations regarding internalized oppression, implicit biases, anti-Black racism, classism and all other -isms. As an advocate, ancestor in training, and Auntie of 30 years, Vileti believes in addressing harm that she witnesses, living her values out loud, and centering the lives of Black, Brown and Indigenous folks relegated to living on society’s margins. Vileti is deeply committed to creating formal and informal spaces for profound individual and collective healing to be held, seen & honored.

The bedrock of Vileti’s overall approach to clinical and communal work is informed by Critical Race and Black Feminist theories and embodied through an anti-oppressive, intersectional lens. For well over a decade, she has developed and provided curriculum, staff trainings, staff supervision and workshop facilitation for a multitude of clients and organizations on topics including social-racial-transformative justice pedagogy, youth development, professional development, trauma-informed care, mental health awareness, circle practice, community care & community healing. Vileti’s consultant work is holistic and rooted in collaborative and liberatory praxis where ultimately, the hope is deeper awareness and radical change. Vileti prioritizes research and attending training on cutting edge topics in order to stay abreast of the latest innovative approaches to healing.
