Jamel Massey is a creative and dynamic presenter with more than ten years of curriculum development and program facilitation experience. He currently serves as a Program Trainer for the Exodus Center for Trauma Innovation (ECTI). In this capacity he provides technical assistance and support for the development and facilitation of trauma-informed workshops and seminars for community members and local agencies. As a person with lived experience connected to the legal system, he is no stranger to the personal challenges faced by individuals released from incarceration, or the social conditions of the communities to which they return. Since 2005 he has held various positions with several social service and re-entry-based organizations. Along with obtaining his Associate of Science Degree with an emphasis in Human Services, he received his mentorship and restorative practices training from both The Credible Messenger Justice Center (CMJC), and The Institute for Transformative Mentoring located at The New School (Center for New York City Affairs). As a trained Mental Health First Aider and Credible Messenger, he encourages others to take full advantage of the personal and social resources available to help improve themselves and the overall quality of life within their neighborhoods and communities.
